This is a unique personal item of Kurt's to own as you rarely come across anything in relation to his personal life and outside his rock career. This card which was issued by Progressive Insurance is for Kurt's 1963 Plymouth Valiant in which after doing research we found out that this particular car was his very first car he owned and while pursuing his dreams of one day being a rock star, he lived in this card after being evicted from his apartment. This info can be found in the book "The Show I'll Never Forget. 50 Writers Relive Their Most Memorable Concert Going Experience" Authored by Charles R. Cross. We took a screenshot of his information and added it here to this listing.
This document which is wallet size, is from Progressive Companies Insurance which was to insure both Kurt and Courtney Cobain effective in October 1992 to October 1993. We acquired this piece from a big Kurt Cobain fanatic who in addition to this ID card, had a signed Kurt Cobain document from Progressive. We were told this policy is for that car as the 2 were found together as a pair. We have that signed document (most likely) still available and can be found on our online store on this website. We have included a picture of that signed progressive document in this listing but please be aware, this listing for this ID card DOES NOT include the signed document which is being sold separately on our store. Ironically the signed document, removed and dropped Courtney Cobain from their coverage and his particular policy (a Progressive decision), and Kurt is being made aware (as the policyholder) of Progressive's decision to remove her from their coverage.
