How Inscriptagraphs Authenticates: The IGM In-House COA Process Explained

Every autograph we host has a paper trail

Inscriptagraphs' IGM (Inscriptagraphs Memorabilia) in-house COA program exists for one reason: to guarantee — with documentation — that every autograph we sold from a signing we hosted was signed by that person, at that event, in front of our staff. Here's exactly how it works.

Step 1: Book the signer under a written agreement

Every private signing starts with a signed agreement between Inscriptagraphs and the signer (or their representative/agent). The agreement specifies the date, location, items to be signed, signing quantities, and exclusivity terms.

Step 2: Prepare the pieces

Every item is inventoried and pre-labeled with an internal Inscriptagraphs SKU before the signing event. Photos are taken of the unsigned item.

Step 3: Sign in front of documented witnesses

The signing itself happens in a controlled setting — usually at our Las Vegas retail store, at a convention booth, or at a private event venue. Every signing has:

  • At least two Inscriptagraphs staff members present as witnesses.
  • Continuous video recording of the signing session.
  • Photographs of the signer holding representative pieces post-signing.
  • Real-time inventory reconciliation — every signed piece is checked back against the pre-signing SKU list.

Step 4: Affix the tamper-evident hologram

Immediately after signing, each piece receives a numbered tamper-evident hologram. The hologram is registered in our internal database against the signer's name, event date, event location, and pre-signing SKU. If the hologram is removed or tampered with, it visibly destroys itself.

Step 5: Issue the paper COA

Each piece is paired with a printed IGM Certificate of Authenticity that includes:

  • The signer's full name.
  • Date and location of the signing.
  • Description of the item.
  • Matching hologram serial number.
  • Inscriptagraphs' contact information for verification.
  • Reference to our lifetime authenticity guarantee.

Step 6: Lifetime authenticity guarantee

Every IGM-authenticated piece is backed by our lifetime authenticity guarantee: if any Inscriptagraphs piece is ever proven inauthentic by JSA, PSA/DNA, or Beckett, we refund the full purchase price. No time limit, no fine print.

What if a customer wants third-party authentication?

Any Inscriptagraphs IGM-authenticated piece can be re-authenticated by JSA, PSA/DNA, or Beckett — we've never had one fail. If you'd like to add third-party authentication to a piece you're purchasing (or already own), we can handle the submission on your behalf as a courtesy service.

Non-signing inventory — third-party authenticated pieces

For pieces that came into our inventory via consignment or wholesale purchase (not from a signing we hosted), we never issue an IGM COA. Instead we pass through the piece's existing JSA, PSA/DNA, or Beckett COA. Our staff independently verifies the certificate in the authenticator's public database before the piece is listed for sale.

Questions?

Every Inscriptagraphs customer is welcome to inspect the full authentication chain for any piece — signing photos, event video, hologram registry, and (for signings) a copy of the signer's original agreement.
